Macrae’s Clover Trifolium dichotomum

An uncommon clover from scattered locations on the Gulf and San Juan Islands, usually on hot south-facing Garry oak outcrops. Its tall stature and fuzzy appearance make it unlikely to be confused with any of our other native clovers. With a spotty distribution, early collectors thought it was probably introduced. Known on Salt Spring Island only from a single site. Flowering in May and June.
