Howell’s Triteleia Triteleia howellii

Known on Salt Spring Island from a single collection made in 1893, it still occurs nearby in Maple Bay and at scattered sites on southern Vancouver Island. Across its limited range within the province, this federally rare plant shows some affinity for growing together with Garry oaks, and favouring higher pH sites on old shell middens. Flowering in May.
