Green-sheath Sedge

Carex feta

This aptly named sedge occurs in a variety of wet habitats from ditches to vernal seeps, and has recently been planted as part of the Blackburn Lake wetland restoration project. It is most commonly confused with pointed-broom sedge (C. scoparia), a species that has its spikelets more tightly clustered at the tips of the flowering stems. Natively occurring at four sites on Salt Spring Island.nd in moist meadows and wetlands.
